Nice work. I'm sure that plate will help you sleep more soundly.

You may want to check out Tef Gel to reduce galvanic reaction. I believe the Navy uses this stuff for Alum + Steel.

I got them from Fisheries Supply. I live only about 10 miles from their store in Seattle, so I get most of my supplies there. I should just send them my paycheck every month.

They're expensive, but seem very tough. Devlin called them out in his plans. The upper rail is smaller (50402), and the lower one is part #139234 http://www.fisheriessupply.com/online/ln_menu/product.asp/mode/1/product_id/206066/Ntt/rub+rail/N/-92610/Nty/1le/R/4991/act/A01/catalog_name/FISCO/Ntx/mode+matchpartial+rel+Inactive

Thanks Bill. My wife agrees with you - she really wants this thing done too! I've been working long hours and occasional weekends in my other job (the one that pays the bills) which eats into my real job. I'm finally to the point where I can start adding hardware - rubrails and handrails and the cabin top hatch. I can't wait.

I think they have the same body, but the high-thrust motor has an oversized gear box ("High Ratio Gear Case") and a higher gear ratio, so it's optimized for pushing heavy displacement boats. It's designed for a larger propeller which should have more thrust in forward and reverse, especially at lower speeds. It's about 11 pounds heavier than the standard. Here's a good discussion of the topic: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/005853.html.
